The world is white
Oh yes the world has suddenly become white in the UK!!! Its snowing everywhere and services have almost grounded to a halt. Airports are being shut and train are breaking down everywhere. One would think that with past experiences of snow in this country, situation will be better this time around. But no!!!! In Thurrock where I live, all schools have been closed and roads are yet to be gritted!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Deception
The earth is full of deceptive people. People who have dishonourable thoughts, yet say honourable things. Eventually the truth will come out!!!! It always does. The heart of man is desperately wicked, who can know it!!!!!!!!!!!

Honest! Its summer in the UK
A lot of people get confused during the summer months in the UK by the obvious lack of the sun and the constant rain and low temperature. It definitely looks and feels like autumn to me, even though its August. Meanwhile, in places like New York, Chicago and New Jersey, residents and holidaymaker are hoping for a dip in the high temperature. May I take this opportunity to invite all of them to the UK, for a UK-styled summer!!!!! Phew!!!!!!

My breakfast experiences contd.
Ok, so we all know that British weather is unpredictable, but what we are now experiencing is beyond believe. All of a sudden we are experiencing autumn-like weather right in the middle of what should be a glorious summer time................Anyway, back to the main gist. Ikea restaurant makes no boast about it customer service but even with this in mind, eating in Ikea is a joy. Granted you have to carry your own tray and pack up after you finish eating, but at the price you pay for the food this is understandable. So a few days ago, I had a fantastic English breakfast at Ikea Lakeside, Essex. The meal consisted of beans, scrambled egg, sausage and bacon all for just £1.39 (99p if you have an IKEA family card), although it doesn't come with toast you can purchase a bun (wholemeal or white) for just 40p plus you also get a free cup of coffee or tea with your meal if you have an IKEA family card (free to apply for instore). I half expected the breakfast to be passable especially at that cost, but was I in for a surprise!
The breakfast was great, nothing negative about it. Can I also mention that the restaurant was squeaky clean despite the large number of customers. M&S restaurant Lakeside, Essex sure has a lot to learn from these people (read my earlier blog on my breakfast experience @ M&S.

Breakfast at Spread Deli, Lakeside shopping centre, Essex
A few days ago, I shared my breakfast experience at Marks and Spencer's restaurant in Lakeside shopping mall, Essex and promised to update you on another visit to Spread which is just right beside M&S restaurant. In comparison to M&S breakfast, Spread breakfast is superb. I had the big breakfast which consisted of 1egg, 2 slices of bacon, 1 sausage, 1 slice of toast (brown or white depending on preference), chips and a cup of tea. I requested for an extra slice of toast instead of the chips (I am not a fan of chips especially in the morning) and as usual requested that my egg should be very well done.
The egg (unlike M&S) was very well done and very tasty, the bread was just right and everything else was fantastic. The customer service was excellent as well and the restaurant was very clean + at only £4.20 the cost is £1.75 cheaper than that at M&S (which as I said in my earlier blog was "rubbish".
If you fancy a bigger breakfast you can go for the ranchers breakfast which includes an extra sausage, beans tomato e.t.c Spread therefore is a much better option if you are looking for an excellent breakfast option. My next blog will be on my experience at Las Iguana and Ikea restaurant in Lakeside. Be on the look out!!!

Breakfast at Marks and Spencer Lakeside
Hmmh, what can I say. I went along to Lakeside shopping complex in Grays on Thursday morning on my way to work. My mission was to have a nice breakfast at Marks and Spencer's. I start work at 11 but had to drop my daughter of at Stagecoach holiday workshop (which by the way is fab). So I had about an hour before work started and since my office was about 10 mins from Lakeside, it made more sense to have breakfast at M&S rather than go home. Anyway back to the main gist. I ordered the full marks breakfast (the Lady at the till was exceptionally nice) and asked for a very well done fried egg.
After waiting for about 10 mins the breakfast finally came, the egg was not well done (yoke was obviously runny), so I suppose if I hadn't asked for it to be well done, it might have been served raw!!!! Apart from that there was too much oil on my plate, the toast bread that came with it was more crunchy bread. Anyway, I asked for the egg to be exchanged for a WELL DONE one. Another 10 mins wait and the egg came back welll done, so well done that it tasted like plastic along with more oil in my plate.
I was very dissapointed, this was so unlike the excellent service I was used to with M&S and at £5.99 this must be the most expensive tasteless breakfast I have ever had. Look out for my next blog on my breakfast experience at Spread Deli also at Lakeside shopping centre, Essex (right beside M&S restaurant).

Hung parliament
Hmmh, so we have a hung parliament and Lib dem are in talks with Conservatives. I would have personally prefer a Lab/Lib collaboration rather than Tory/Lib, mainly because the former have more similarities than the former. I don't suppose the politicians have also given thoughts to the fact that majority wanted a sort of collaboration between all parties hence the situation we are in....................

I voted Labour afterall
Today is election day and although I had been undecided for such a long time in the end I voted Labour. I didn't want to vote labour at all, but the two alternatives were worse. On one hand are the conservatives who would have been a good choice if not for their plan to cut services to plug the deficit problem and on the other hand are the Lib dem who to be honest have no concrete plan for the UK. So this morning, I went ahead and voted labour, who for the past few years have made my life very uncomfortable with the constant hike in taxes, NI contribution e.t.c plus need I add that I don't like Gordon Brown!!!
